Why is this upgrade needed?

Much of the equipment at Cerne Abbas substation has been in place since 1960s and is nearing the end of its operational life. This upgrade will modernise equipment, improve safety, and ensure the network is ready to meet future energy demands.

Will this affect my electricity supply?

There are no planned Power Supply Interruptions (PSI) scheduled to take place during the works, but anyone who has concerns about vulnerability during power cuts should register for our Priority Services.

    What are your working hours?

We’ll be working Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm. On the rare occasion that work takes place outside of these hours, we’ll write to residents in the area to let them know beforehand.

Will there be any disruption to bus routes?

Where our work affects bus stops, these stops will be closed and we will request that a temporary stop be located within a short walk of the original location. Where entire roads are closed, buses will divert to an alternative route and information on these changes will be posted in-person and online by the bus operators.

I am disabled and need vehicular access to my property. Can this be accommodated when you are working?

Please contact Amy Welbourn with details of your requirements and we will do all we can to assist you.
