When will we be working?

We will be working Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm.

Why is work on the substation access track necessary?

Expert contractors will handle the transportation and installation of each new transformer to Chobham Substation. The substation access track, off of Gorse lane, will provide a route into the substation throughout our works and so will need to safely accommodate the weight of deliveries. Therefore, we’ll carry out works to temporarily widen the track and to lay track matting to support equipment delivery. The substation access track will then be returned to its original condition upon completion of the works.

The matting is a crucial component, as it ensures the safe passage of transformers by supporting the weight of deliveries and reducing the strain on the track. The mats being used are suitable for horses, and will not be of any inconvenience to the horse-riding community who use this route.

Are there any planned Power Supply Interruptions throughout the works?

There are no planned Power Supply Interruptions (PSI) scheduled to take place during the works, but anyone who has concerns about vulnerability during power cuts should register for our Priority Services.
